National road-condition analytics

Context

In April 2026 the Road Infrastructure Agency ran an instrumental roughness survey of the republican road network: 27 regional offices measuring with a smartphone survey app, plus profilometer runs on the motorways. What came back was raw field data in mixed encodings, with partly broken spreadsheet exports. The agency needed engineering conclusions, not files.

What we built

We reconciled the raw measurements against the faulty exports, then turned the cleaned data into decision products: a motorway condition report with homogeneous sections and a prioritized repair programme, a condition report for the first, second, and third class network, and an interactive map of every result. The map ships as a self-contained offline bundle that agency staff open with a double click; no installation, no server, no account.

The measured result

  • 82homogeneous motorway sections derived from the measurements, each with an intervention type

  • 1,111point defects flagged at 25-metre resolution

  • 475first, second, and third class road segments mapped, alongside all six motorways

  • The survey and its field data are the agency's; the analysis, reports, repair programme, and map are ours
